It's fairly easy to recreate consoles in Lightning; it's a lot easier/more intuitive than in Classic.

There's no timeline for classic or classic consoles to be retired. I'm assuming it will happen one day, but Salesforce would likely give several years notice as normally they do when retiring products or features.
