I had a Circle of Success call last week in regards to Get the Lightning Readiness Assessment. On the call I thought it was mentioned that in the transition we would be able to bring over only information which we currently use. Meaning that we could bring over only the profiles, roles, page layouts, etc. for our current org. Our situation is unique in that we used to be three companies. Two of the companies have left and are now using a different Salesforce Org. They have deactivated all of their users and removed all of their accounts. I was trying to delete all things related to them, however I continue to get errors that things are tied together. We wanted to have a clean version when moving to lightning, so I was excited when I thought I heard on the call we could convert to lightning and only bring what we currently use. When I switch myself over to lightning however, everything is still there. Is it possible to only convert over the profiles, roles, etc. that we use and not bring that of our old companies or can someone tell me how to remove these before converting? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
@Susan Norris, one thing we mention in those consultations is that users can only access Lightning Experience when they have the permission to do so, either through their profile or permission set (it is not all or nothing). As @Elna Miller mentioned, though, most all other metadata that you have defined within Setup of Classic will also be available to you when you switch to Lightning Experience.
