I don't remember my users having access to "Approval Requests" and "Forecasts" in All Items (see screen shot). How do we remove these as options. We aren't using either of these Items.
This is all I found on it:
"Looking for a feature that’s not yet supported in Lightning Experience? Click the tile for the feature’s cloud, then scroll down for links to that feature and others. Clicking a link opens the feature in Salesforce Classic in a separate browser tab. For example, if you want to use Collaborative Forecasts, click Sales, then scroll down for the Forecasts link. Click it to show the Forecasts tab in a separate browser tab Salesforce Classic."

But, even with it set to hidden my users can see Forecasts here. I suppose you'd have to call Salesforce and ask them to disable Forecasts for you.
