Hello all, especially @Adam Wegel @David Goldbrenner and @Arnab Bose

!

I'd like determine how we can best implement a shared file library with permissions set a directory level and object level. For example, we imagine a library with directories organized by customer, to be accessible by:

TAMs - Owners of their customers' files; viewers for all files, all customers

TAM Managers - Collaborators for all files, all customers

Technical Support Engineers - Viewers for all files, all customers

Customers - Collaborators or viewers for their files, as managed by TAMs

We would like to be able to notify all file "watchers" by email (or their chosen notification method) when files have been added, changed, or deleted. We do not necessarily need the level of file collaboration that Chatter would offer.

I attended the Files Roadshow in Austin in January and have been excited about the possibilities for this application. Is it possible for us to create all this by using the Library, or would we need to implement Chatter Files as well?
