I have trouble creating extract on Tableau server when I schedule a refresh. My data source in SQL Server and I have multiple dashboards that I have published and scheduled an extract for these.
When I try to run it I get the standar following error.
I tried adding in the default port 1433 by editing the connection but that did not work. I am able to connect to the same SQL server when I try it from my Tableau Desktop but from Tableau Server it seems to be failing.
Could anybody help me understand if there is some kind of firewall which is restricting the sign-in to the data source or any other possibilities for this error.

Please download the workbook from tableau server and open in the tableau desktop.
And please click on Data source page , there you will see some difference . Specially with Authentication type like SSL,SASL or something else.
Please choose the correct one and publish to server.
- You should be able to ping your database
- Your extract refresh should work
