In my org, I have Business Accounts where a single Contact is related to each Account. I want to convert all Business Accounts to Person Accounts. Will this conversion result in the loss of community access for these Accounts? If so, how can we address this?

When you convert Business Accounts to Person Accounts in your org, the community login associated with the Contacts may be impacted, potentially leading to the loss of community access for those Contacts.
- When a Business Account is converted to a Person Account, the Contact is merged into the Person Account. After the conversion, Person Accounts can still have community access, but you may need to manually check and reassign community access, as the Contact’s login may be lost during the conversion.
- Portal-enabled Business Accounts cannot be converted to Person Accounts, which may affect community access. Some data (e.g., Phone, Fax) may be lost during conversion, so create custom fields to retain important information. Person Accounts can be used for customer communities but not for partner communities, as they represent individuals, not businesses.
- Prior to executing this in production, test the conversion process with a few sample records in a sandbox environment to ensure that community access for converted Person Accounts remains intact and functional.
