There is a question, just bear with me a moment.....
So, I spun up NonProfit Cloud trial org so I could see for myself how it looks, works, etc. I then reached out to a few wonderful people, @Dar Veverka and @Ryan Ozimek to chat and help myself gain a deeper understanding of things, at @Midwest Dreamin', @Michael Kolodner, really helped me connect some dots around what is now "core" vs the NPSP and PPM, etc managed packages and the impact overall.
So now that I have spun it up (and will be doing so again and again), I am trying to wrap my head around Party Relationship Groups and all of the related objects that go along with it. At a high level I get it, it's pretty much Relationships and Affiliation's in the NPSP. A bit more to it, but high level, those make perfect sense to me. The Account Account Relationship also makes sense, I think it's just a way to show how accounts may be related to other accounts (more so Organization's I am guessing?). I am building something similar for our organization, as we do need to understand how other organizations are related to us and how that may end, begin again, etc. For example we have partnerships with a few other organizations, where we provide our coaching services and at times those partnerships have ended, etc. So it make sense, but as I explore this concept out, I am trying to think through the actual use cases and when to and NOT use it. For example, should I use it for Organizations who donate to us? My gut say's no, because we will already have that information and while a donor relationship may come and go, it just doesn't "feel" likea good use case for that Account Account Relationship.
So I was wondering what others thought. What use cases can you see for this and why?
@Shahida Robertson - Sign up again. That is the correct link. It's possible there was an issue w/the spin up of your trial. Your admin user should have had all the correct perm sets and the Learning Org trial you get at that link should have the config done and trial records in there.
