I have a Duplicate Rule (which I want) for Contact with Allow checked for Action on Create. During Lead conversion, if the rule fires, I get the error msg (albeit in ugly red), but no chance to allow the creation of the Contact.
Is there a best practice for allowing creation of the Contact (if a dup name really is OK) during Lead Conversion, while still keeping the Duplicate Rule turned on?

Hi John,
You could maybe have a checkbox set to true on Leads, and the same checkbox on Contact set to false.
Map the 2 checkboxes together for Lead conversion
Change your duplicate or matching rule so it excludes Contacts where the checkbox is true
Bear in mind that the checkbox on existing Leads will be false (default values only work on creation), so update them, maybe with the data loader, to true
