Anyone using Skyvia to connect to Marketing Cloud for Data Integrations (Import/Exports)?

I'm trying to figure out what user permissions are needed to connect the Skyvia tool to SMC.

Our Salesforce team wont let me create an OAuth integration, so I'm stuck with the User / Password connection option.

I have created a basic user in our Business Units of interest and Given the user API Access. But this hasn't done the trick. I still get unauthorized errors.

If I connect with an Admin User, it just connects without issue.

Just wondering if anyone knows the minimum permission requirement for such a integration. (Skyvia or otherwise that connects with a User/Password combo)

Sadly the vendor is of little help (oddly), even though the tool seems to integrate quite well with the correct permissions.

I’ve worked with Skyvia (https://skyvia.com/connectors/exacttarget) for Marketing Cloud integrations and ran into a similar issue before. When using username/password authentication (since you can’t create an OAuth integration), the user account you're connecting with must meet a few key requirements in Marketing Cloud:

    1. Assign to the correct Business Unit you want to access.
    2. API Enabled permission set must be granted.
    3. The user must have the Web Services permission enabled under Administration -> Account Settings -> Roles.
    4. Also make sure the user has access to the Data Extensions you're working with (read/write depending on your flow in Skyvia).

Skyvia uses the standard Marketing Cloud SOAP/REST APIs, so these permissions are required regardless of the tool. If it works with an admin account but fails with the basic user, it’s almost always due to missing one of the above.

In my setup, I ended up cloning an admin role and removing UI access while keeping the API and data permissions, which made it work securely.
