Our opportunity object is private, but we created a sharing setting that allows read/write access to all users. However, only the owner of the opportunity is able to add opportunity team members. How can we grant access to anyone to add team members? We dont want to give them modify all access on their profile (although we gave view all / modify all for the opportunity team member object in their profile and it didn't fix it). We also do not want to give them a role above everyone else in the org.

In order to add a Opportunity Team Member you need the following permissions; (1) Read on Users
(2) Edit on Opportunities (3) Be the Opportunity Owner or above in the role hierarchy
I'm afraid there isn't another way to add teams members without using a custom automation for example you could have a Screen Flow to add members that runs a 'System' that should do the trick.
