The number of days between the end date of a contract and today.

I am having trouble completing the following Trailhead: Create a formula field that determines the number of days between the end date of a contract and today. This is the formula that I am using:

 

CloseDate - TODAY() 

 

I keep getting the following error when I check the syntax: 

 

Error: Field CloseDate may not be used in this type of formula

    Can you post a screenshot of the Formula Field and the Formula and Error? 

     

    Did you create a Formula Field and select Number as the Formula results
