The reports I have on the dashboards are:
1. Leads
2. contacts
3. Opprtunity with contact roles
Both of the two fields are custom picklist fields, available on all 3 objects. And the fields on 3 objects share one API name. And both fields are add to all my reports on the dashboard.
But I'm still not able to see the two fields available as filters and I cannot figure out why.
Possibilities I can think of:
1. even the Bubisness unit fields on leads, contacts, opporunity sharing the same API name, some of them are using gloval picklist, some are not. (same picklist value)
2. the 2 fields are used as "group by" in some of the reports
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi Eva,
Custom picklist field using Global Picklist Value Set can't be used to filter dashboard and that is the reason why you can't see them when applying filter to your dashboard.
