Hi Jasmine,
Health cloud is an installed package on top of regular salesforce and it uses private communities along with its own custom objects to enable the Doctor-Patient relationships and record management. Your regular Sales cloud apps can still be there and work in the org, but if you need doctors or patients to use it, you'll have to do some more work to extend the apps access to the community users and internal users.
