Can anyone help me understand why some times the Related To field on Task auto-populates with an Opportunity and not others?

Hello Sole,
My guess is that the task that automatically populated with an Opp is being created from the Activity section on an Opportunity.
Alternatively, the task could be created from the Outlook plugin which can reference E-mails for example to Salesforce Objects, Opp included.
If it's not the case for neither of these, let me know. It would be useful if you could explain the creation process you're following for the Task as well :)
