Some users are receiving the error when Saving a Case. There are 3 record types in the system and the error is happening for just one of them. Has anybody faced this before? I already checked all the OWD, Hierarchies, Profiles and so on. I can't find where the problem is, mainly because they are opening for the other Record Types without any problem.

    Hi Erica

I think you might be confusin object permissions with record permissions.

You state that case is private - therefore by default, individual records are resricted to only the record owner

The CRE permission on the object, does not automatically extend to records.

You state that users can see private case records but ont edit them. That means that you are extending record visibility in some way - but not granting edit rights.

Check if you have case sharing rules defined under the OWD section, and if so what are the sharing rules (they are likely to include the 2 record types but nto the third)

If you cant find a sharing rule, than you might have apex sharing in whcih case you'll require a developer.

there are other sharing mechanisems (teitrroty, divisions etc) but these are not commonly used for cases, so first you should check the 2 I mentioned above.

    regards,

    Guy
