Is it possible to start a refresh of a Replicated Dataset through the Analytics REST API?

Question

I'm starting Dataflow Jobs through the Analytics REST API and it works fine but I have realized that I also need to refresh the replicated datasets before the Dataflow job runs.

I have read the API documentation but I cannot really figure out if it's possible to start the refresh of a Replicated Dataset through the Analytics REST API? In the GUI you can choose "Run Replication" to start it manually but I need a way to start it programmatically.
