I would like to override the Lead Edit page to perform some special operations when the Save button is pressed.  I have succeeded in writing a new Lead page that displays the Detail but when I click the Edit button, All I see is the standard Detail data with a slightly different color in a "Detail" tab.

My Page Code (Overriding the Lead "EDIT" action):

<apex:page standardController="Lead" tabstyle="Lead">

<apex:form >

<apex:tabPanel switchType="client" selectedTab="tabdetails"

                  id="LeadTabPanel" tabClass="activeTab"

                  inactiveTabClass="inactiveTab">

      <apex:tab label="Details" name="LeadDetails" id="tabdetails">

         <apex:detail relatedList="false" title="true" />

      </apex:tab>

</apex:tabPanel>

</apex:form>

</apex:page>

I am a noob SalesForce programmer and this is my first page.  So, I am very likely missing something.

Thanks!

    Nice.  It sounds like you wrote a trigger without writing a trigger.    You got to to leave the Edit page alone, but then customized the View page?
