News appears on mobile app when not in lightning page

I have removed the "News" component from the page layout and lightning app builder record page, yet it still appears on the mobile app. Same is happening with Chatter. I have also removed these from the Mobile Navigation section in Setup.

 

How can I remove these from the mobile app?

    Hi Michael,

     

    can you double check after removed and activated/saved from app builder and also verfiy from object your page layout under the "Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions" sections?
