I am trying to generate a conga Word Document for a purchase order. I made a field called Ship Date as a "Date" field, not a "Date/Time" field. When I go to make a merge field in my Word Doc, everything works fine. But, when I generate the Word Doc to update with the Record Data, the field comes in with time also. I am trying to avoid that from happening.

What I have tried so far is:

- Deleting the field and making it all over again

- Reformating the merge field as a "Date" field in conga composer. When I do so, the field comes in as <<Ship_DATE\@"MM-dd-yyyy">> . But, the problem is, this field goes blank when I try to generate the conga document with the record data

- I even tried messing around with the Word doc by making that space in the table a date field. I could not figure out a way to do that.

Pretty confused why this does not work. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

It looks like in your builder, you're using Text Based Merge Fields, but in your template, you're using the word quick parts merge field.  Have you attempted to define your field type in Conga and then click this button:

To see what Format Conga puts the field in, into a Word Doc?  If you don't want to use the Text-Based Merge Fields, I would unselect this box:

    User-added image

And then repeat the steps above to generate a word doc with just that field in it and check the formatting to then add to your template.
