Can report subtotals be mapped to object fields in a reporting snapshot?

I'm looking to take snapshots of our montly membership status count.  We have 4 status's, Current, Grace, Future, and Expired.  My report is grouped by status, giving me subtotals for each.  I'm trying to do a monthly snapshot to capture those subtotals to the new Archive object I've setup, containing number fields for Monthly Current, Monthly Grace, etc.  However, when I go to map the fields, the only field available from the report to map is Record Count, which is the grand total of all membership status's combined.  Is it not possible to map subtotals from reports?  Do I  need to create a seperate report per status, and corresponding snapshot in order to have it's record count be available to map?

    Hi Christopher, 

     

    Let's try this. On your Membership Object, create 4 number formula fields:

    • Current Count
    • Expired Count
    • Future Count
    • Grace Count

    Basically, if the Membership is equal to that respective status, the formula would return 1, otherwise 0. For example, here's waht the Current Count would look like:

    IF(ISPICKVAL(Status__c,"Current"),1,0)

    In your report, you could tthen add these 4 fields to your report and summarize them. 

     

    Then, in your reporting snapshot object you could map them as follows:

     

    Current Count [SUM] -> Last Months Current

     

    Expired Count [SUM] -> Last Months Expired

     

    Future Count [SUM] -> Last Months Future

     

    Grace Count [SUM] -> Last Months Grace

     

    That should allow you to get all the data in a single record, but let me know if you encounter any issues.
