How do I configure Case settings so that email replies by customers to emails I send from a Case record are attached to the Case? I turned on Email to Case, even though I do not want Cases created from emails.

I have read that. Because I am testing in a new sandbox, the new threading behavior is turned on, and I do not need the Thread Id field. Salesforce Support confirmed this for me yesterday.
