Does anyone know of an app or standard Salesforce capability for 1) tracking internal assets against employees 2) logging standard internal cases with assets 3) low cost
I am confident in my ability to develop a custom object or customize current objects to do this, I was just wondering if there was a solution that exists and has worked well for anyone. Thanks.

For anyone finding this now: ITAM App is a free native package built for exactly this. It tracks internal hardware and software licences assigned to employees, keeps assignment history, and links assets to Cases in Service Cloud, so internal IT tickets carry the asset they're about. Employees holding equipment don't need Salesforce licences, only the IT admins do. The free plan covers 20 owners and 100 assets with no time limit.
