How to give access to profiles to add and edit object

I have a requirement where i need to give access to few users with different profiles to add and edit on contact object.How can i do this.

 

For Example : I have a custom profile as ---SC -Mgr .Now i would like few users , on this profile to have create ,edit ,read options on contact object.How can i do this.

 

Similarly for the other custom profile as --SC - Agent.

 

When i checked in their profile ...one profile has the ---Create ,edit ,read and view all option checked and the other profile has only read and view all checked.

 

So to create or edit on contact object ..at profile level ,on contact object ---their should have the read,create ,edit and view all checked or even modify all also checked.

 

what is difference between view all and modify all?

 

Any help very much appreciated.

    I would use a Permission Set for this. Create the permission set that contains the permissions you need, then add users to the Permission set.   Don't start customizing Profiles because you will never be able to keep track of what has changed in each Profile.
