If there is a common denominator to the emails you want to delete (something like Subject starts with Mass Email, etc.) you can also search and delete through the Mass Delete function (Setup > Administration Setup > Data Management).
This is only good for 250 records at a time, though, so the data loader idea is still the key for bigger delete jobs!
