I have users that may clone a lead that is in a different record type (MarketingTeamLead). When it's cloned, the new lead is in the new record type (SalesTeamLead) that the user has access to, but the picklist fields contain the original value from the cloned lead. In the case of Lead Source, the user has access to 4 values, which are displayed in the Lead Source field picklist, but the original value is also listed. I want to create a validation rule that forces the user to change the original value to one of the 4 that they are able to use. This is the validation rule that i am attempting to use, but it does not work.
AND(
OR(
NOT(ISPICKVAL(LeadSource, "Inbound")),
NOT(ISPICKVAL(LeadSource, "Referral")),
NOT(ISPICKVAL(LeadSource, "List Build Sales")),
NOT(ISPICKVAL(LeadSource, "Sales Generated"))),
RecordType.Name = "Sales TeamLead")

Hi Nate, the $ is no longer required, either ChrisE''s formula or this one will work fine AND(
RecordType.Name = "Sales TeamLead"
AND(
TEXT(LeadSource) <> "Inbound",
TEXT(LeadSource) <> "Referral",
TEXT(LeadSource) <> "List Build Sales",
TEXT(LeadSource) <> "Sales Generated"))
