can't create tasks for accounts belonging to someone else

Question

A standard user in our organization can't create tasks for any accounts or contacts belonging to another user.  He gets a message that he doesn't have permission.  He also cannot view tasks created by anyone above him in the heirarchy. How do I change his permissions to allow these functions?

I would check your security settings to see if you need to share with this user:   Setup>Admin Setup>Security Controls>Sharing Settings
