I want to be able to attach an email to one Opportunity only - automatically, without having to assign it manually from the 'Unresolved' list. Currently when I add an email from Outlook into Salesforce (using 'Salesforce for Outlook'), it attaches the email to the Activity History of EVERY Opportunity to which the given contact name is linked. The problem is that I may have the same contact under several different Opportunities - but I only want an email to be associated with one particular Opportunity, and not attached to all the others under which that contact is listed. I believe this is possible if you are working in Outlook 2003 or 2007? but does not work for Outlook 2010. This would seem like a retrograde step, and I would appreciate any ideas/help on how to get around this issue without having to manually assign emails to Opportunities by putting them in the Unresolved list.

Thanks

David, how are you getting your emails to attach to the Opportunity records? Our company tracks everything by Opportunity and my emails are being attached to the company and not the opportunity. Did you change something in Settings? We are using Outlook 2007. Thanks
