Hello,

 

 

We have a handful of different contact record types in our organization. We are a non-profit and one contact record type is very specific as it's for donors/volunteers. The other record types pertain to the clients we serve in the non-profit.

 

 

Is there any way to customize the search layouts and filters based on the Contact Record Type? I can only see the option to edit for contacts as a whole. But the development side of our organization is interested in seeing certain information when they search for a client, but other departments want to see something different for their types of clients.

 

 

Is there any way to do this? Please let me know. Thank you.

    Nope,The Search layout setting would be for whole organization, But if you want you could allow User to apply the filters to their search ,so that they can search for the contact with desired record types:-

     

    To enable filter on Search Go--Setup--Customize--Contact--Search layout---Search filter fields
