I am new to Salesforce and Saleforce for Outlook. When I try to sync, I receive the following error:

 for Outlook record Martin McGovern

2012-05-10 15:26:22,588 ERROR [Contact] Create  to SFDC gave error(s) Sfdc.Server.SfdcServerCreateUpdateException: pba.ContactTrigger: execution of BeforeInsert

caused by: System.DmlException: Insert failed. First exception on row 96; first error: REQUIRED_FIELD_MISSING, Required fields are missing: [Name]: [Name]

(pba)

Can someone tell me what this means? I'm guessing that Salesforce cannot find a field in Outlook that it needs to sync....I just don't know which one.

    Hi Jake,

The error indicates that the ContactTrigger is failing during the BeforeInsert operation because a required Name field is missing.

The important part of the error is:

This usually means the trigger or related Salesforce configuration is trying to create a record without populating a required Name field. It may not necessarily mean that Salesforce is missing a field from Outlook.

Please check the pba.ContactTrigger code and any related automation to see where the required Name value is being populated. Also verify the Salesforce for Outlook field mappings and the affected Outlook contact.

If you can provide the ContactTrigger code and the relevant field mappings, more specific guidance can be provided.
