Does anyone know if I can create a different page layout for logging calls and entering tasks? It looks like when you click 'Log a Call' under activity history it takes you to the same page as 'New Task' under Open Activities. Can I have those 2 buttons take you to different page layouts? I don't want some of the fields on log a call under the new task option. Is this possible?
Unfortunately not. A logged call is just a Task. You can change task page layouts and record types underneath Customize - Activities - Task Page Layout.
