Passing custom fields from products to price books to opportunity detail line

How can I pass custom fields from products to price books and then from price books to opportunity detail line and quote detail lines?

Not sure about price books, but make sure to check out this app:

It will at least link your opportunity, quote, products, and quote line items when you sync a quote with the opportunity.
