is there a way to have a button add a default product to an opportunity?

Instead of being launched into the wizard I would like to add a default product to my opportunity at the click of a button.  I would need to enter price and description information, but I don't want to "stop" at the select screen. Thanks!

Hai David,

You can get this functionality by writing Apex,Create detail pagebutton and add it to pagelayout, in that button click action pass opportunity id, to apex class,there using that id,insert a product for that opportunity.
