Hi everyone - I'm looking for abit of help.

I've created an engagement studio on Pardot - a series of 4 emails as a drip campaign to warm people up after completing a form to watch a demo.

The list to enroll into this engagement studio is - Prospect filled in X form.

I'm going to setup another engagement for leads that request a guide from the blog. This second engagement studio will be similar to the first engagement studio as it's the same product being promoted.

How do I set this up so that if someone fills in the landing page and then requests a guide they are only enrolled (and stay) in the 1st sequence they entered?

I could setup an automation rule for:

Rule - if prospect form X was completed and:

Rule - prospect form X was completed

THEN

Action - remove from X list

But how do I tell this to remove the right list (I want them to stay in the 1st list they entered).

Also, I want try and avoid removing them from lists as we use lists in reporting to see how many people did X action.

Any help would be appreciated!

You could build your engagement studio as a single program with two "branches".

At the top (start) you put both recipient lists.

The first step, make it a yellow step looking for List membership. "Are they a member of list A (video) ? Yes/No"

On the Yes path (yes they are a member of the video list) put all the video nurturing steps.

On the No path, put all the Form nurturing steps.

Because they are in the same program it doesn't matter if they do both things. Once they start going down one path (branch) they won't suddenly jump to the other path. They continue down the path they first started on.

Just make it so they can only enter the program once (in the Start step you make sure they're not allowed to repeat) and you should be in good order.

    ====

If, for some reason, you want to suppress someone from the other list, you would use tags.

    So:

    1) Video list has the logic "watched video" AND "does NOT have tag [completed-form]"

    2) Form list has the logic "completed form" AND "does NOT have tag [watched-video]"

On the engagement program, you would do your logic branching the two programs. then the first step on each side would be to apply the tag.

So when we do a yellow step asking "are they on the video list", on the Yes path we apply the tag "watched-video" and on the No path we apply the tag "completed form"

They can only go down one side, and get one tag.

That would mean that if they first watched the video, they'll get the video tag. Then if they later fill out the form, they will have the "watched video" tag, and are not eligible for the Form list.
