How to Set up Push Notifications for Salesforce Opportunities
Salesforce added a cool feature called ‘custom notification’ to the Process Builder in the Summer ‘19 release. Custom notifications allow you to send important information in real-time, so your users don’t miss record changes and updates, available for the Salesforce Lightning Experience and the Salesforce Mobile app. You can define when you want the notification trigger, what message would you like to show, and which users to notify.

Thanks @Joshua Schneyer that is good news and I understand it does add extra complexity. Really the main pain point is users not going in to update their opportunities close dates - realise it is also an adoption issue too. We currently just use validation rules where any field changes will prompt them to update the close date into the future but they need to visit the record for this and try to update, and the other way is just reporting where we send them a report of those with past closed days to update it. A system notification popping up to ask them to visit some opps that have not been updated in XX days or when it passes this close date as a reminder would be a great update. Thanks!
