we have the issue that since switching to lightning the clone function with and without products are not working.

One issue we are having is that the clone copies every existing field from an opp and saves this then changes the Stage back to the first stage in the Sales process.  If you have copied a closed won opp and in the meantime have added a new field with validation to force completion this is causing an error but the data is just lost.  Even if you manually change the stage to the first stage before saving it does the copy of contract signed irrelevant of what is entered into the form.  We have an added difficulty that we lock down the opps after closed won and only finance can update them as commissions are calculated of the back in a 3rd party tool.  Therefore if a closed won opp is cloned the user gets the error that they cannot edit as they don't have rights.

Does anyone have thoughts or a solution?
