Rich Text Lightning Component on Home Page

Our Classic HOME page contains several URL links that open various externally stored documents. In transitioning to the Lightning UI some Salesforce users appear to have created a Rich Text component on their HOME page that simply references the associated URL link.

Is there any component / feature in Lightning that will allow for the display of a URL 'shortcut', on the Lightning HOME page, (similar to what was available in the Classic sidebar) that, when clicked, will reference the underlying URL link? 

Placing the URL directly into a Rich Text component does work but it does NOT appear to be as user friendly (and transparent) as having a clearly worded shortcut for SF users to select from.

Any thoughts / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
