UPDATE: Salesforce1 for iOS Release To Follow Summer ‘16 Release

Are you an admin of a Salesforce org with active iOS mobile users, if so please be aware that the next major release of the Salesforce1 downloadable app for iOS will be available after the Summer ‘16 release*. The Salesforce1 for iOS update in Summer ‘16 will require iOS version 9.2 or later.

* Currently targeted for June 2016; date subject to change

As announced in December 2015, the release of the Salesforce1 downloadable app for iOS, version 8.0 was delayed due to a compatability issue with iOS 9. This issue is now resolved in iOS 9.2 and later. Key new features in the Salesforce1 for iOS update in Summer ‘16 include enhanced Mobile Device Management (MDM) support and the availability of Salesforce Knowledge articles.

What action do my Salesforce1 for iOS users need to take?

The Salesforce1 for iOS update in Summer ‘16 will require iOS 9.2 or later. To ensure a smooth transition for your org, we recommend that your users are running the latest version of iOS. Users can install the latest iOS version for free. For help, see the Apple Support site [https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204204].

For the full list of iOS devices that Salesforce1 supports, see Requirements for the Salesforce1 Mobile App help topic [https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=sf1_requirements.htm]. Salesforce1 for iOS, version 7.3.x, will be the only version available for download for devices with iOS 9.1 or earlier.

NOTE: This release schedule has no impact to the Salesforce1 downloadable app for Android. Orgs with Android users will be notified when we approach the next major release of the Android app.
