Can we use the dictation capability of Siri on the iphone when using "Log a call" in salesforce1? I am planning to use this feature for call reports and would like to make the life as easy as possible to our sales team.

Yes, you can use the "Log a Call" feature in Salesforce and dictate comments using a microphone, but Salesforce itself doesn't have built-in voice-to-text capabilities. However, you can use speech-to-text tools integrated with your computer's operating system or third-party software to dictate notes in the "Comments" section.

Here are a few ways to enable dictation in Salesforce desktop app:

    1. Windows:

    • Windows has a built-in speech recognition feature that you can use to dictate text. To use it:
      1. Press Windows + H to bring up the dictation toolbar.
      2. Place your cursor in the "Comments" section in Salesforce.
      3. Start speaking, and Windows will convert your voice to text.

    2. Mac:

    • macOS also has a built-in dictation feature. To enable and use it:
      1. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Dictation.
      2. Turn on dictation.
      3. Press Fn (or another key if set) twice to start dictating in the "Comments" section in Salesforce.

    3. Third-party speech-to-text tools:

    • If you want more advanced dictation options or prefer a specific speech-to-text tool, you can use apps like Google Docs' voice typing (in Chrome) or standalone software like Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Once dictation is enabled, you can easily speak your notes, and they will be converted to text in Salesforce’s "Log a Call" comments section.

Looking for some advice on how to write or manage triggers that will allow us to disable/enable them all when needed - specifically when importing data.  Is this possible?  What might be some alternatives to this? Any advice is appreciated.

Hey @Jennifer Bailey, here's my solution in simple steps.

    1. In Setup, enter "Custom Settings" in the Quick Find box. Then, click on Custom Settings.

    2. Next, click on Manage beside Inspire Planner Config.

    3. Click on Edit.

    4. Scroll through the list of settings and look for "Disable triggers for data migration" and set this to TRUE. Click on Save.

You can also Turn Triggers On and Off with Custom settings. For more information, click on [https://jkilburn2043.wordpress.com/2015/10/06/turn-triggers-on-and-off-with-custom-settings/].

Let me know if you face any problem with this.

I am relatively new to Salesforce.  I need to become certified.  The classes offered at Salesforce are really expensive.  There are a lot of materials and resources located on the web.  What would be your recommendation at the pathway toward certification?  #GettingStartedWelcome

I second Focus on Force. It's an incredible resource to help you prepare for certifications.

Hello Amazing community members!

Wanted to get certifications for the Salesforce training that i am undertaking.

I am from Sales and Business development profile.

Confused between the 'Salesforce Administrator' and 'Salesforce marketer' certification.

Which one would be the idea certification to get for me ?

New to Salesforce and coming to it from a Business Analysis background.  About halfway through a trail for prepping as an Admin.  Is that the best route to take? Is there a Certified Business Analyst course in Salesforce? #GettingStartedWelcome

I am making great progress in customizing fields and features for my account so far.

My question is, what is the best way to make my settings the organization default for my sales team so we are all on the same page?

I've been a salesforce user/admin for 6+ years and am still learning. I joined this group hoping to learn as much as I can to help out our sales team. Has anyone started with the Lightning Sales App and has success customizing it for their sales team or is it better to start from scatch? I'm looking for ideas to add to our sales reps' SF experience that would help them in their jobs. #GettingStartedWelcome

As someone who flirts with Salesforce functionality and reporting to help with their job, but isn't responsible for the systems, what type of qualifications/courses/certificates do companies look for in their Saleseforce architects / Sales Ops leads? #GettingStartedWelcome

    Hey Jonathan!

I’m new to Salesforce and also a sales guy by day.

I would check out this page for Sales Careers :

    https://trailhead.salesforce.com/career-path/sales

If you click “start skilling up”, the orange button just below the fold, it will lead you to trail head where you can complete a trail which should give you an amazing learning experience as a user and sales manager.

    Hope this helps!!
