I am trying to complete this challenge of object relationship. It showing this when i am trying to create master detail reationship. (Cannot Create Master-Detail Relationship
You cannot create a new Master-Detail relationship on an existing custom object if records already exist. You must first create a Lookup relationship, populate the lookup field with data in all records, and then change the relationship type to Master-Detail.)
It showing You cannot create a new Master-Detail relationship on an existing custom object if records already exist but i didn't create a master relationship in my custom object. if anyone know what should i do or what i did wrong.
One thing that catches people on this exact error even after they've deleted everything: records sitting in the Recycle Bin for that object still count as existing records and will block the conversion. Check Setup > Object Manager > your object > and also empty the Recycle Bin for it, not just delete from the list view. That combined with what Nikhil said usually clears it.
