Coordinate fields not supported by Shield platform encyption?

Our customer is evaluating Shield Platform Encryption because they have requirements to encrypt certain fields that contain classified data. They are using Field Service Lightning and one issue we noticed is that the Latitude and Longitude fields for Work Orders and Service Appointments do not support encryption (see https://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/summer18/release-notes/rn_fsl_shield.htm). Address (and the associated coordinates) is among the confidential data that the customer is looking to protect so is there any workaround for this? Will upcoming releases allow the latitude and longitude fields to be encrypted?

    Hi Henri,

     

    I wasn't able to find any update on when these fields would be supported for shield encryption. I would suggest logging it as an Idea/feature request at the moment so that others can vote for it and hopefully, it will be implements soon.
