Hi all

What is best practice for identifying, grading and flagging ICP accounts in Pardot? The grading system is great for prospects, but how do I do something similar with accounts? Our ICP scoring system is pretty comprehensive and I'd like to be able to automatically identify and flag any new ICP account that appears on our radar. Of course, ICP status is always validated by a human at some point, but I need an initial guesstimate based on explicit and well defined company attributes. An example of why we would want this is when anonymous prospects from known companies are browsing our website (i.e. the company can be identified from the IP address). I want the ability to create an automation rule that notifies someone in marketing that XYZ company, who happens to be a Tier 1 ICP, is sniffing around us. This is a key component of our Account Based Marketing strategy so if anyone has ever built a scoring system at the account level I'd be keen to hear about it. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, I'm looking for some advice, we're setting up grading in our org and we have buyers who would purchase from different areas/services. Our sales and marketing teams have collaborated to create the criteria for profile A and profile B, but they're very similar with only very minor differences. Can you have two profiles that are so similar?

An example being Annual Revenue

Profile A

Strong $751M - $1B or more

Good $101M - $250M to $501M - $750M

Weak $20M - $100M

Profile B

Strong $751M - $1B or more

Good $101M - $250M to $501M - $750M

Weak $20M - $100M

PROFILE GRADING BEST PRACTISE

Hi everyone. New to the group, looking forward to collaborating with you all!

I’m new to implementing Pardot and wanted to get some feedback on a scenario that I believe could get out of control.

- my customer has 26 total grading profiles in their system. They’ve asked me to run allocation rules for 13 of them to allocate a profile accordingly (so let’s just focus on 13!).

- my thinking is this is far too many profiles and I believe they are using profiles to segment their customers by industry. The problem I see is if each profile has 4x auto rules (1x profile allocation and 3x profile criteria changes) that’s 52 auto rules just on profiles. If they ask me to do the same for the other 13, we’ll go over their 100 auto rules.

SOLUTION

- go back to the drawing board and ask them to map out what industries / titles etc are a ‘strong, good and weak’ match to build an ideal customer profile and use accordingly, use the default grading (except for any outliers to that rule where I build a custom profile)

I wanted to know if I’m right in my assessment and if I’m correct in my thinking around a solution?

Hi,

I'm struggling to make an automation rule to apply grades to prospects. I've created the profiles and Automation rules - which manage to match prospects based off the criteria yet they are still not being graded...

What am I missing?

Hi @David Pringle - don't laugh, but I have to ask...if you created custom profiles for your prospects, did you assign your prospects to those custom profiles? I'm hoping it's that easy. ;) Out of the box there is only one default prospect profile, and if you create automation rules related to that one, it just works. If you create custom profiles, you will have to assign your prospects to those custom profiles based on certain criteria - maybe using another automation rule, or manually. Let me know if that is not it.

Has anyone changed Grading recently? I'm finding a lot of resources on why Grading is important but not how Grading is implemented. Any helpful tips/tricks/gotchas to share?

We currently are grading on 1 criteria (Company Size) and looking to move to 9 criteria (Company Location, Company Name, Email Domain as a few).

Lead Scoring and Tasking

Good morning! I am in the process of reevaluating our current scoring and grading models and am curious if anyone in the community has any clever suggestions to automate a notification or SF task creation once a point threshold is met? I know other MA platforms have features built in that can account for these AQL's, but I am a bit stuck in getting started.

My initial instinct is to use either an automation rule or EP to check a prospects score and then trigger task creation and automation, but I am a little unsure of how to roll this out to our entire database as cleanly as possible. I have experience managing this type of process in a partially manual way, but I am interested in making it as hands off as possible. Any advise is greatly appreciated!!

I have done it using an automation rule: When a prospect reaches 75 points, a task is sent to the assigned user.

This might be the most elementary question, but how in the world do I get prospects Pardot grade view-able in Salesforce Campaigns? We want to filter prospects in a campaign per the stronger grade.
