Stop wasting unnecessary time managing Contracts as an Account Manager!

Save time with the Manage Contracts function and be sure to apply these best practices to your daily routine.

Hey,

I'm having some troubles with the Contracts area of SalesForce and was hoping someone could help. If I'm in the wrong place, please point me where I need to be! (First post problems)

We're trying to get the Contracts to be able to look after a cost per user model, rather than a total contract value. The only problem with doing a calculated field is that when reporting, the contract will appears as though it has had 'X' number of users, whereas the contract may have started with 'Y' number and increased mid term, which we would lose.

Is there any way that people have managed to make this work for them, without creating a new contract every time the contract updates?

Thank you! :-)

Best wishes,

Luke Redhead

One thing you can do is use a subobject on the Contract record and roll up the number of users from those records and add it to the original total and then use that value in the calculation
