Great post and matches my experiences as well. One thing to consider adding: some big Salesforce events like Dreamforce also include certification vouchers that can be redeemed at the event. For example, this year they had a big (yet very quiet) auditorium at Dreamforce where many people sat at for one โfreeโ certification exam attempt (purchase of the event pass still required, of course, but thereโs no extra fee to sit for 1 exam during the event which was a great perk). Still had to study a lot and work through badges, Trailhead and real life experiences to gain the knowledge to pass, of course!
