Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of any ideas/possibilities within Salesforce for a public calendar to be broadcasted/shared to external users (those without a SF License)? Ideally, this would update dynamically (as public calendars do) and could be shared as a read-only public link. Can the Communities tool or any custom Apex solution be created to meet this need? Maybe there is a solution on the AppExchange?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Thomas

    @Thomas Love,

    This is tough at quite a few levels. OOTB solutions are unlikely to work as public calendars and events can't be shared directly with guest users (the standard calendar component just can't see public calendars and their associated tasks as a guest). AppExchange could work here, but I imagine you will be paying for a decent number of features you won't use (something like this: https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N4V00000FNCL2UAP&tab=e). A great example (I thought) would be the free Calendar offering by Salesforce Labs, but they haven't refreshed their code for that component in a really long time (https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000Ev8qpUAB&tab=r). Regarding totally custom solutions, this is likely the road you will be pushed down should you decide not to pay for an AppExchange app, where your Calendar objects will need to be replaced with custom objects and your Calendar UI will likely have to be sourced from a project or modified heavily (the following one is pretty good: https://github.com/effordDev/sf-calendar). Hope this helps!
