Hello All. I'm beginning to configure program management module at out organization and I would like to know how it works in other places. We are interested in collecting attendance to our daily programs. We provide housing counseling, early learning, computer classes, etc. The main goals is to add households and individuals into the PMM and manage all our programs data there. We are confused between Programs, Program Engagement, Service, Service Delivery, and Service Session.  #Nonprofit Cloud #PMM #Program Management Module

This is an example of what I understand:

  • Program: Housing Counseling Programs for Adults
  • Program Cohort: Adults are grouped into cohorts by month served.
  • Program Engagement: Felix is enrolled in the Housing program, and this information also shows up on Felix’s Contact record
  • Service: A “Grow Your Credit Score” class, measured by hours attended
  • Service Schedule: The “Grow Your Credit Score” class is offered on Monday from 3-4 PM
  • Service Participant: Felix is a participant in the Monday “Grow Your Credit Score” class
  • Service Session: Monday, October 5th “Grow Your Credit Score” class
  • Service Delivery: Felix attended 1 hour of the “Grow Your Credit Score” class on Monday, October 5th

My questions:

  1. Is there a different way to do this in the system?
  2. Does anyone use a scanner to scan individuals into salesforce?
  3. What is the best approach with PMM?

Thank you,

Felix.

Hi Felix.  Thanks for reaching out.

    1. You have a good understanding of how the PMM works.  Have you seen the overview page in the documentation? https://powerofus.force.com/s/article/PMM-Overview
    2. Salesforce doesn't provide a barcode or QR code scanning facility (except in the Field Service app).  Here's an option from a commercial partner:  https://www.codereadr.com/blog/salesforce-barcode-and-qr-code-scanning/
    3. PMM has a complex data model, as you have seen, due to the need to support a wide range of organisations.  It will take a while to fully get into the swing of it, but the documentation is pretty good. Did you know that there's a Trailhead module for PMM? https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/program-management-with-nonprofit-cloud
