Control Access to Objects - week 2.  Going back and re-doing some of these challenges/modules.  In week 2 under Control Access to Objects, it says:

  1. Find Profiles in Setup.
  2. Select a profile and then click Edit.
  3. Set the most restrictive settings and permissions you can for this user type, and save. (Don’t worry about blocking the user from doing things they need to do. We'll open up more possibilities for them later, when we give them permission sets.)

What are the most restrictive settings and permissions?  Where is the info for this?

TIA!

I think language in the Unit is simply telling you that, once you have determined the level of access for the user *type* you are working to set up in the system, you should always start with the most restricted profile for their use case.

This is because the profile is the base-layer for access to "fields and buttons" (as Sara would say) - much like OWD is for records a user do not own.

You can always open up access as needed for specific users via specific options like assigning permissions, which you wouldn't be able to do in order to restrict access.
