Dynamic Filtering Using Tableau JavaScript API

Hello Tableau Developer Community,

I'm in the process of embedding Tableau dashboards into our company's internal portal using the Tableau JavaScript API. I've come across a challenge where I'd like to allow users to dynamically filter dashboards based on their profile data within the portal.

For instance, if a user belongs to the 'West Region' in our portal's user data, I'd like the dashboard to automatically display data pertinent to the 'West Region' upon loading.

• Can I achieve dynamic filtering with the JavaScript API?
• Any documentation or tips on this?
• Known limitations or challenges?
