Hello!

One of our dashboards is connecting to a published data source which has monthly full refresh and weekly incremental refresh scheduled. The incremental refresh identifier (parameter) is a date field. But I need to verify this field is the correct one. Where can I find its incremental refresh configuration?

Another question is about the logic behind incremental refresh. For example, if the last full refresh was done on Apr 1st at 4:00am, the next incremental refresh will pull records whose date is after Apr 1st ? Is that right? Is Apr 1st included in the incremental refresh?

Any information is highly appreciated!

Thank you so much!

    Hi @Charmaine Zhang,

Are you using Tableau Server v2022.1? With this version, providing you have access permissions to do so (as a server or site admin, or the content owner, or your account has permissions to edit), you would be able to edit the data source direct from Tableau Server which would allow you to investigate the incremental update rules.

If you are using any earlier version, you will need to download the extract to modify offline using Tableau Desktop, wherein you would be able to perform the same investigation.

Be careful though, extracts can be massive which can place a lot of strain on the Tableau Server resource, but also on both the stack resource and networking.
