How to remove a contact as a portal user?

I am doing the Share CRM Data with Your Partners project. In that, I am stuck in the last step. I am unable to change the owner of Pyramid Construction Inc to Pat Stumuller. I am getting the error saying Portal user cannot own partner accounts. How to remove a contact as a portal user?
