Okay - I'm on board for CDP and Data Cloud. I get that it's the future of IT and that I need to learn it.

But here's the thing - our company doesn't have many systems to integrate. For the most part, we've gotten by with an integration we pay for between Salesforce and our insurance agency management system.

But that makes me wonder, what data sources SHOULD I be accessing? If this is a big enough problem that Salesforce needed to create CDP, then I assume I'm probably not leveraging as many data sources as I should be to be competitive.

Does anyone have some insight regarding what are common data sources that are usually hard to ingest, but can now be ingested with CDP?

So I have a whole bunch of ideas but it's unclear how great they are...

Check database (exactly what we get on the check and envelope and accompanying insert, if any)

    Paypal database

    Facebook payment database

    Facebook message database

    Facebook engagement database

Employee Matching payment databases (benevity et al)

    Voip phone log database

    Google Analytics web interactions

    Answering service message database

    Info email helpline message database

facebook messenger database from support staff

    training course database

google form database for learning quizzes

    google form volunteer agreement database

    linkedin database

    facebook friends database

You will note that a lot of these are things that are currently *manually* resolved now when we enter them into the CRM. What if we could stop that and allow CPD to do it instead?

All of these are things that money could "integrate" into SF platform but they live just fine where they are for good reasons.

It remains to be seen if CDP can really stand in for us and help or not. But these are just some of the standalone databases out there that might be pulled in without having to fully integrate.
